How We Review and Moderate Submissions
This platform relies on the honesty and clarity of the stories submitted to it. To keep the record accurate, respectful, and useful to the public, journalists, and researchers, our editors follow the standards below when reviewing every submission before publication.
Minor Text Corrections
Editors may make minor corrections to spelling, grammar, punctuation, and formatting to improve readability. We do not alter the substance, facts, or meaning of a contributor's account without their consent.
Removal of Harmful Content
Submissions that contain personal attacks, harassment, or content directed at a specific individual in a demeaning or threatening way will be declined or removed, even if the underlying account of events is otherwise credible.
Obscene or Offensive Material
Stories containing obscene language, explicit material, hate speech, or other offensive content are not published. We may ask a contributor to revise and resubmit a story that would otherwise be publishable once such material is removed.
